OVERVIEW:

The Dean of Information and Innovation serves as the leader of school-wide efforts related to the integration, development, and management of educational technology. In addition to serving as the primary resource for faculty, staff, and students in utilizing technology to enhance teaching and learning, the Dean oversees the school's Information and Innovation Department, which staffs and operates Kent Denver's libraries and impact studios, provides related coursework, and seeks to support, enhance, and extend teaching and learning throughout our curriculum.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Leadership and Strategy


  • Collaborating with other curricular leaders, develop and implement a school-wide vision for educational technology aligned with Kent Denver's Mission, Vision, and academic goals.

  • Lead the department in curriculum design, instructional initiatives, and professional development efforts related to information literacy, innovation, and design.

  • Provide leadership and direction for integrating technology across all grade levels and disciplines.

  • Serve as a thought leader and advocate for emerging technologies and pedagogical best practices.

  • Collaborate with school leadership, faculty, and IT staff to assess and enhance the technological infrastructure.

  • Serve as a departmental leader in supporting course development and instruction of the Information and Innovation Department, as well as our Innovation Scholars program.

Faculty Support and Professional Development


  • Provide ongoing professional development and training to faculty on the effective use of technology in the classroom.

  • Design and implement workshops, seminars, and one-on-one coaching sessions on pedagogy and technology integration.

  • Support faculty in developing curriculum and instructional materials that leverage educational technology.

  • Stay current on trends in educational technology and pedagogy, guiding the school's approach to new tools and technologies.

Curriculum Integration


  • Work closely with faculty, and departmental leaders to integrate technology meaningfully into the curriculum across disciplines.

  • Support teachers in designing innovative, technology-enhanced lessons that foster critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity.

  • Collaborate with subject-area departments to ensure appropriate technology usage in different learning contexts (e.g., STEM, humanities, arts).

Community Engagement


  • Promote the school's innovation and educational technology vision to prospective students, parents, and external stakeholders.

  • Engage with parents and the broader community to ensure alignment of technology practices with the school's values and mission.

  • Develop communication strategies to update the school community on new technology tools, updates, and digital learning resources.


Additional Responsibilities


  • Serve as a member of the Department Chair team and other relevant school committees, contributing to technology, curriculum, and pedagogy discussions.

  • Participate in school events, workshops, and initiatives that support the school's vision for innovative education.

  • Teach, advise, and otherwise be engaged in the broader life of the school

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School or Associate Head of School for Program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 5 years of experience in educational technology leadership or similar roles, preferably in an independent school setting

  • Proven track record in integrating technology in educational environments.

  • Strong understanding of pedagogy and how technology can enhance various teaching and learning strategies

  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS), digital resources, and various educational software and tools

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to think strategically while maintaining a practical, solution-oriented approach to challenges

  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in educational technology and digital literacy, including AI

  • Familiarity with data privacy laws and ethical considerations related to educational technology

  • Advanced degree preferred

Salary range:

$85,000 - $120,000

Start Date:

August 1, 2025
