Athletic Performance - Graduate Assistant

Under general direction of Director of Athletic Performance, this individual is assigned specific teams to design and implement all aspects of Athletic Performance. In addition, this individual will be assigned additional teams to assist with program implementation. This position will also assist with intern curriculum implementation, nutrition station and supplementation duties as assigned. This position will be expected to collaborate with coaches, athletic training, nutrition and mental health to ensure the best possible experience and performance for their student-athletes. Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelors' Degree in related area. Successful candidate will need to be accepted into one of Creighton University's graduate-level programs (typically two-year programs).
  • Basic knowledge of Olympic lifting and variations
  • Knowledge of specific sport concepts/strategies and NCAA rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of basic statistics.
  • Knowledge of physical conditioning techniques and weight training
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal/human relations skills with a desire to collaborate with colleagues
  • Organizational/planning skills.
  • Leadership and motivational skills.
  • Interpersonal/human relations skills.
  • Ability to serve as a positive role model.



Required Licenses/Certifications



  • CSCS or SCCC
  • CPR/First Aid/AED
  • USAW Sports Performance Level I (preferred)



Duties



  • Instruct strength training and conditioning exercises to student-athletes, and oversee team workouts, on the court, field and in the APC.
  • Communicate with coaches and student-athletes on individual student-athlete progress and plans for improvement.
  • Organize, design and implement workouts for student-athletes. Work to improve knowledge of workout design and implementation.
  • Assist in maintaining nutrition table and nutrition supplementation program
  • Assist with internship curriculum and implementation of learning program
  • Supervise daily operation of weight room/equipment maintenance and general cleaning
