Systems Engineer

Maxar is looking for a versatile and innovativeSystems Engineerto support an interesting and exciting project within the Intelligence Community.

Project:

TheSystems Engineerwill work independently and as part of across-functionalteamcomprised of technical experts supporting an established and growingIntelligenceCommunity(IC)mission. You'll analyze system requirements and concept of operations documents, acquisition plans, and systemdesigns.As a SE on our team, you'll use your experience to work with the testers, developers, engineers, and other experts from a wide range of stakeholder groups to evaluate hardware and software developed for integration onto assets. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to advise the government onstrategic technical planning, project management, performance engineering, risk management and interface design for legacy and future sensor systems.

Typical daily duties include:

• Identifyingsystem requirements and working with other staff to oversee system design, development, integration, and product verification testing at the component and system level
• Lead, and participate in Technical Exchange Meetings on system integration,technical/programmatic issues,andriskmanagementas needed or required
• Support testing and test planning across the full range of the acquisition life cycle, providing subject matter expertise and technical support for proof of concept, developmental test, operational tests, and factory & acceptance tests.; gather documentation to support field exercises and coordinate with test ranges and support activities
• Advocate for program performance that meets the requirements of government project leads, recommending future direction or projects to management
• Interface with all aspects of the team to resolve system engineering issues and actions, to include: tracking user requirements and their translation into system requirements and specifications; providing expertise and direction in the development or modification of new capabilities; providing system engineering support and advice for system integration

Must Have Qualification:

• 6 years of professional experience working insystems engineering
• Must have active TS/SCI security clearance and be able and willing to obtain CI Polygraph
• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (4 additional years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree)

Desired Qualification:

• Advanced degree in an Engineering discipline
• Experience following DAUSystems Engineering best practices
• Prior supportto field sets, legacy field devices, and emerging technologies
• Experience working on-site at a customer location
• Experience working in DOD/IC
• Practical RF systems knowledge gained through design, construction, or facilities management work experience
• Military or defense-related experience and an understanding of operational planning and functional defeat of hard targets
• DAWIA Level II or equivalent in the systems planning, research, development and engineering (SPRDE)-S&T functional areas
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within or lead a team of peers, as well as excellent interpersonal and communications skills
• Ability to communicate highly technical analyses at a level comprehensible to non-technical audiences and senior-level government representatives
