As Vice President of Digital Enablement & Horizontal Services, you'll lead the charge on driving seamless, cross-channel digital capabilities (powered by our Medica Integration Layer). You'll deliver consistent, market-leading digital experiences to our customers - helping us serve those members and their communities for decades to come.

Your Role:

Digital: You'll build strategic competencies and capabilities to enable digital portfolio delivery and operational excellence. You'll ensure technology plans are well-developed, well-understood, and aligned around defined schedules and budgets.

Integration: You'll lead technology work and strategy around our Medica Layer, which powers experiences across the enterprise and creates reusability of our data across all lines of business. You'll provide overall accountability for integration of various Technology systems, applications, and third-party solutions to improve data flow and interoperability. You'll take the lead on technological troubleshooting and serve as subject matter expert of solutions for operational problems.

Strategy and Planning: You'll drive successful execution and continuous improvement of Tech teams, running an Office of the CIO that aligns Technology strategy with other business units, leaders, and resources across Medica. This includes, but is not limited to, providing support to Enterprise Committees to ensure Tech is plugged in with all channels - from Board level to financing of initiatives.

You'll collaborate with senior leaders to drive fast innovation, maintain robust security, and lead various transformation efforts that support business growth and efficiency. From people and process to technologies and solutions, you'll identify key opportunities and stay attuned to evolving needs to ensure consistent delivery on commitments.

Responsibilities We'll Trust You With:

Strategic Planning and Oversight



  • Platform Enablement (integration): Facilitate integration tools, processes, and patterns that connect and share data to Medica systems.
  • Delivery Optimization: Define the Medica Tech delivery methodology in conjunction with the Medica Enterprise Transformation Office.
  • Portfolio Management: Implement governance from intake to delivery to manage demand and capacity across Medica Tech. Partner with the business to align priorities and capital investment.
  • Digital Enablement: Partner with Medica business teams to transform the experience of Medica's key constituents. Leverage a mobile-/web-first approach coupled with intelligence and automation to transform how our members and providers interact with Medica.


Office of the CIO (OCIO)



  • Define and lead strategic planning, governance, financial management, IT process management, IT Metrics and KPIs, and IT Communications. Establish technology governance frameworks to ensure healthy IT portfolio and its respective management processes.
  • Define IT metrics and KPIs that highlight efficacy of Medica Tech to the broader organization.
  • Provide communications for key Medica Tech stakeholders across technology portfolio.


Systems Integration Planning and Oversight



  • Provide overall accountability for integration of various Technology systems, applications, and third-party solutions to improve data flow and interoperability across the organization.
  • Ensure department works effectively with Software Development and Application teams to drive development of effective integration strategies.
  • Oversee technology consolidations to ensure seamless integration of Tech systems and processes:
  • Define enterprise integration patterns and standards.
  • Oversee implementation of integration platforms and tools.
  • Establish integration governance and best practices.
  • Lead API strategy and management initiatives.


Digital Enablement



  • Direct web portal and mobile application development strategies.
  • Lead front-end development teams and architectural decisions.
  • Ensure consistent user experience across digital platforms.
  • Drive adoption of modern development practices and tools.


Vendor Management and Team Leadership



  • Own overall resource strategies that support IT objectives and financials. Oversee negotiation and management of vendor and partner relationships, contracts, and service agreements.
  • Implement quarterly business reviews for top 20 vendors by spend.
  • Drive to optimize IT spending, streamline processes, and reduce total cost of ownership.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing Tech teams in Infrastructure, Operations, and Integration functions.
  • Identify talent needs, training, and drive a high-performance culture aligned with business goals.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent experience required.
  • 12+ years experience in Technology, with at least 7 years in Sr. leadership roles providing strategic planning and overall accountability of digital strategies and integration required.


Skills and Abilities:



  • Strong experience in development and execution of strategies that align with business goals.
  • Overall accountability in complex Technology environments, transformations, and cross-functional integration projects.
  • Ability to lead through faster evolution and modernization within Medica's technology teams, and across various functions.
  • Deep knowledge of infrastructure technologies, cloud platforms, network architecture, cybersecurity, and service management frameworks.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to align technology strategies with business goals.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.


This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work from the designated office in Minnetonka, MN or Madison, WI on average, 3+ times per week.

The full base pay salary range for this position is $224,000-$336,000. Annual base pay salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and or licensures, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data.

In addition to base compensation, this position is eligible for Medica's Short Term Incentive plan, Long Term Incentive plan and our Supplemental Executive Retirement Plan.
