Essential Job Duties |
Accounting technician to provide the Veterinary Hospital Diagnostic Laboratories with accounting services, which include montly billing and reporting, account reconcilation, coordination with NC State University Controller's Office and Hospital accountants and financial reorting across four service units. In addition, this position will provide client administrative support for financial inquires, system integration and support, sample coordination and support, and acts as intermediary for the Laboratory Information System IT rep and labs. |

Minimum Experience/Education |
High School Diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in accounting work; or equivalent combination of training and experience. |
Department Required Skills |
* Strong knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel with attention to detail.
* Effective communication skills and ability to work with a diverse group to include; in-house clinicians, staff, veterinarians and private clinic staff.
* Knowledge and understanding of appropriate laboratory procedures, policies, laws and regulations.
* Familiarity with general laboratory sciences.
* Basic accounting skills to include posting payments, adjustments, and charges.
* Applied knowledge of financial reports and also generating reports over time to monitor and track revenue. |
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education |
* Experience with University accounting reports
* Knowledge of Laboratory information system that includes an accounting and/or billing package.
* Experience with OrchardSoft (
VLIS) software. |
