Position Description:

The Senior Project Control Analyst is responsible for providing financial and program control support to project and program managers, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, and overseeing billing and revenue management in a government contracting environment. This role involves analyzing project performance, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accurate and timely client billing and revenue recognition in line with organizational and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

* Project Controls:



  • Develop, maintain, and update project cost estimates, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Monitor project performance, track costs, and report variances against baselines to project/program managers.
  • Perform cost and schedule analysis to identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Support contract modifications by preparing financial impact analyses and updated cost proposals.


* Client Billing & Revenue Management:



  • Oversee and ensure the accuracy of client invoices in compliance with contract terms, including fixed-price, time-and-materials (T&M), and cost-reimbursable contracts.
  • Reconcile billed and unbilled amounts to ensure proper revenue recognition in alignment with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) guidelines.
  • Collaborate with accounts receivable to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure timely payments.
  • Perform monthly revenue forecasts and track actuals against targets.
  • Assist in the preparation of indirect cost rate proposals and support DCAA audits as needed.


* Financial Reporting & Analysis:



  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Support monthly and year-end close processes, including revenue accruals and expense adjustments.
  • Analyze financial performance trends to inform decision-making and improve operational efficiency.


* Compliance and Audit Support:



  • Ensure adherence to company policies, government regulations (FAR), and contractual requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and support internal and external audits.
  • Provide inputs for incurred cost submissions and ensure alignment with contract terms and conditions.


* Collaboration and Leadership:



  • Act as a financial advisor to project and program managers, providing actionable insights on cost management and project profitability.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with contracts, procurement, and operations teams to align financial and operational goals.


Requirements:

o Education & Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project control, financial management, or related roles in a GOVCON environment.
  • Proven experience with client billing and revenue management for government contracts.


o Skills & Competencies:



  • Strong knowledge of government contracting regulations (FAR, CAS).
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP system Deltek Costpoint.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and financial modeling.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
  • Experience supporting DCAA and DCMA audits.
  • Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification


Compensation and Benefits

The projected compensation range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The target salary for this role is $130,000 per year. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
