POSITION SUMMARY

The Staff Accountant supports the accounting functions for AES. These functions include hands-on participation in the month-end financial close, managing inventory transactions, preparing financial statements, and supplying the Executive Team with the analysis used in decision making. The best candidate for the Staff Accountant position would have a strong foundation in accounting, the ability to pull data from multiple sources and provide analysis on this data. As Staff Accountant, the candidate needs to have strong attention to detail and consideration for deadlines. This individual will support the AES Chief Operating Officer and will report to AES Controller.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


(Other duties may be assigned and are not limited to the following)

  • Coordination of the daily cycle count process and review of significant variances
  • Inventory analysis and management of standard cost changes
  • Accurately report sales margins and analyze variances in labor or materials
  • Assist with creation of monthly financial statements
  • Perform detailed account reconciliations, accounts payable
  • Be a key user in the ERP system (Infor/Baan)
  • Assist with semi-annual financial audits
  • Develop relationships with business units to expedite workflow and ensure appropriate accounting treatment
  • Identify process improvements and recommend changes to improve systems, processes, and performance
  • Other assignments as designated by their manager(s)


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field of study required
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar position or as an accountant in an industrial division in the business-to-business sector
  • Experience with ERP systems (Infor/Baan a plus)
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including Excel and Outlook
