Duration and Location This is a summer internship, lasting 12 weeks. Huntsville, Alabama Key Responsibilities During your internship, you may... Design of prototype mechanical systems to include surrogate threat targets and autonomous refueling subsystem components. Document processes and improvements. Collaborate with teams to solve complex problems. Present research and findings in team meetings. Job Requirements Qualifications Currently enrolled at an accredited university, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent discipline. Understanding of mechanical systems, tools, and assembly processes. Ability to think outside the box and develop innovative solutions to engineering challenges. Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) software for drafting and modeling mechanical components. Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment. Adaptability to a fast-paced, dynamic work setting. Passion for learning and growing in a tech-driven environment. Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance. Preferred Qualifications Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and design. Experience creating detailed SolidWorks drawings for manufacturing and assembly. Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) for structural and thermal simulations. Exposure to machine shop environments, including an understanding of fabrication and machining processes. Requirements US Citizen. At least 18 years old. Actively enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited educational institution. In good academic standing with a grade point average of 3.0. Commitment to a full-time schedule during the internship period.
