Position Summary

Position Overview

The Director of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) will lead and oversee the organization's enterprise-wide risk management strategy. This role is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across all business operations, ensuring the organization remains resilient in the face of uncertainties. The Director will work closely with senior leadership, business unit heads, and other stakeholders to develop and implement comprehensive risk management frameworks, policies, and practices that align with the organization's goals and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Risk Strategy Development & Leadership

  • Develop and lead the execution of the organization's enterprise risk management strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and the overall risk tolerance.

  • Collaborate with senior management to establish risk governance structures, define risk appetite, and guide key decisions on risk exposure.

  • Provide strategic insights on emerging risks and trends that could impact the organization.

Risk Identification & Assessment

  • Oversee the identification and evaluation of risks across the enterprise, including operational, financial, strategic, compliance, cybersecurity, and reputational risks.

  • Lead periodic risk assessments to monitor existing risks, detect new threats, and evaluate risk mitigation measures.

  • Develop and maintain a risk register and monitor the effectiveness of mitigation actions.

Risk Mitigation & Control

  • Lead the development of mitigation strategies to reduce the probability and impact of key risks, working with relevant departments to implement controls and safeguard business operations.

  • Provide guidance on risk treatment plans and ensure that mitigation efforts are appropriately documented, monitored, and tracked.

  • Work with internal and external auditors to assess risk management practices and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

Reporting & Communication

  • Prepare and present regular risk reports to the Executive Committee, Board of Directors, and other stakeholders, providing clear and actionable insights on the risk landscape.

  • Create and maintain risk dashboards to track key risk indicators (KRIs) and provide transparency into the organization's risk posture.

  • Develop risk management communication plans to ensure relevant stakeholders understand key risks and the steps being taken to address them.

Training & Culture Building

  • Lead risk management education and training initiatives to foster a strong risk-aware culture across the organization.

  • Promote risk-conscious decision-making at all levels of the organization, ensuring that risk management is embedded in day-to-day operations.

Crisis & Business Continuity Management

  • Support the development and execution of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.

  • Lead the organization's response to significant risk events, including crises or major incidents, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing impact on business operations.

Regulatory Compliance & Best Practices

  • Ensure the organization's risk management practices comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.

  • Stay informed on developments in risk management practices, frameworks, and regulations (e.g., ISO 31000, COSO ERM, and relevant sector-specific requirements).

Undergraduate. Leadership Development Program Leader

  • Responsible for recruiting, placement, L&D program design, mentoring and coaching participants and partnering with the business for proper role identification.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., FRM, CRM, or PRM) is highly desirable.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in risk management or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and leading enterprise-wide risk management programs.

  • Expertise in managing risks related to regulatory compliance, cybersecurity, operations, financial stability, and reputational risks.

  • Experience with risk management software tools and platforms is a plus.

Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.

  • In-depth knowledge of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and industry best practices.

  • Analytical and strategic thinking, with a solid understanding of how risk management impacts business objectives and decision-making.

  • Ability to influence senior leadership and drive a culture of proactive risk management.

  • Experience with crisis management, business continuity planning, and incident response is highly desirable.
