Sony Electronics has an opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst. The individual will work in coordination with department team members and internal business partners to deliver the financial accounting transactions and reporting of Sony North America (SNA) under the umbrella of a Global Process Model which spans across multiple regions and time zones.

Responsibilities include completing the monthly financial closing processes such as journal entries, accruals, financial analysis, validating systems controls,balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting of actual results for the assigned streams.

Must work closely with Business Unit, Operations and offshore team members to support the accounting process to ensure that activities are transacted and accounted for properly. Clearly present and explain financial results to Sr. Management.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Ensure SNA financials are in full compliance with IFRS, Sony Corporate Accounting Policies and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) policies.

  • Actively participate in projects and activities which improve departmental efficiency and/or effectiveness.

  • Provide training, guidance and procedural direction to offshore team. Review & monitor offshore team work product.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of applicable experience

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; MBA/CPA preferred

  • Experience in a Fortune 500 corporate environment

  • Knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS accounting standards

  • Microsoft Office skills; Advanced Excel expertise critical

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with Internal and External customers/business partners at various levels

  • Skill of identifying weaknesses in processes and recommending/implementing process improvements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior accounting department experience including month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations and Journal entry preparation

  • Expertise of SAP Finance and ERP Modules including Business Warehouse

  • Finance Shared Service and BPO experience

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $77,000to $127,000.The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for a bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package including healthcare benefits (medical, dental, and vision), paid medical leave after three months of employment, a 401k plan with matching company contributions, vacation time, education assistance, student loan assistance program, eighty hours of paid sick leave time annually, and up to twelve weeks paid parental leave.
