Your Opportunity as the Senior Analyst, Tax Reporting

As a key member of the Company's Tax and Finance teams, you would be responsible for supporting the Company's financial reporting requirements for income taxes, prepare monthly close and forecasting tax calculations, as well as quarterly and annual tax reporting calculations, with a specific focus on ASC 740. As a key member of a high performing corporate tax department, you will also seek to drive continuous improvement, inclusive of leveraging technology solutions, primarily in tax provision software, and provide support in cloud-based finance solutions.

Location: Orrville, OH Corporate Offices

Work Arrangements: Hybrid, 30%-50% in office expectation

In this role you will:

  • Prepare and assist with year-end and quarterly current and deferred income tax provision calculations under ASC740 and corresponding accounting entries, effective tax rate reconciliations, SOX documentation, and related financial statement disclosures.

  • Prepare and assist with monthly, quarterly and year-end plan and forecast effective tax rates (GAAP and Non-GAAP) and supporting documentation.

  • Prepare supporting workpapers and documentation such as certain Schedule M-3 adjustments and other federal/state/Canadian tax compliance schedules.

  • Reconcile accrued, prepaid, and deferred tax accounts, primarily for income tax accounts

  • Monitor federal tax estimates and cash tax impacts to support Company financial reporting and guidance activities.

  • Support finance transformation activities, including the current implementation/migration of Oracle Cloud solutions for accounting, planning, and tax processes.

  • Monitor and determine tax and financial statement impacts from federal, state and local and international tax legislation changes.

  • Monitor and determine financial statement and disclosure impacts from new US GAAP, SEC, and regulatory changes.

  • Assist with tax audits from tax authorities, as well as internal or external reverse audits, by compiling responses to IDRs. Respond to tax notices and research pending issues.

  • Support due diligence and modeling activities related to potential merger and acquisition and related integration activities.

  • Prepare and support certain indirect tax reporting and processes.

  • Perform general tax research and analysis.

  • Assist with tax planning projects.

  • Support and implement process and technology improvement initiatives.

  • Supervise and mentor tax interns.

  • Work with cross-functional teams for tax data requests, Company or finance system implementations, and other strategic initiatives.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 3+ years corporate tax experience (CPA firm or public company), with emphasis on income tax accounting activities

  • Experience with federal corporate income tax compliance activities

  • Prior project management experience and proven ability to multi-task within a collaborative and fast-paced environment

  • Proven ability to identify and drive process improvements

  • Ability to proactively coach and mentor individuals and teams

  • Attention to detail and focus on accuracy of work

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and presentation skills

  • Strong communication and professional presence

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel

  • Flexibility to continually evolving business needs

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role (not required):

  • CPA or Master's degree

  • Working knowledge of state and local tax or international tax topics

  • Prior user experience with Oracle/Hyperion/Smartview applications and other cloud-based tax solutions

  • Experience with and Spotfire/Tableau/Alteryx (or other data visualization and analytics tools)
