Description

As a national leader in student success, Georgia State has developed a robust data infrastructure that seeks to leverage insights from analytics to maximize educational opportunities for students from all backgrounds. The Office of the Senior Vice President for Student Success is seeking a Data Analyst to support analytics evaluation, and research efforts for several programs across the university.

The Data Analyst will be responsible for supporting data collection, analysis, and communication of findings for programs across the Division of Student Success. The position will collaborate with other members of the Student Success Analytics team to develop and execute comprehensive analysis plans that measure student outcomes, operational goals, and program alignment with the university's strategic plan. This position will work with team members to establish methods of analytics and research that will drive decision making for programming and effectiveness. Examples of duties include:

* Contribute to the development of analytic solutions to support business intelligence, decision support, and predictive modelling needs of the division of Student Success.

* Provide analytical and technical support for staff that helps support data driven decision making.

* Work with leadership and cross-functional teams to create relevant analytics support for institutional priorities.

* Support the operation and evaluation of the university's chatbot.

* Perform analyses using various statistical methods and techniques with a broad range of tools for data manipulation and visualization reporting including R, python, and Power BI.

Qualifications :

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

Master's degree and one year of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

A highly-qualified candidate should possess:

* Demonstrated experience in data analysis, including proficiency in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools.

* Experience with version control systems like Git and GitHub for managing collaborative projects is a plus.

* Demonstrated ability to work with multiple projects and prioritize tasks appropriately.

* Experience supporting analytics solutions in an organizational context.

* Strong communication skills.

* Willingness to engage and work collaboratively with stakeholders across a variety of programs.
