Job Overview & Responsibilities

The VP, Federal Sales is responsible for leading and driving the growth of our Salesforce business unit within the Federal Government sector. This senior leadership role will manage a high-performing sales team, establish strategic relationships with Federal agencies, Original Equipment Manufacturers, and grow our presence within the Federal marketplace. You will also collaborate closely with resellers and partners to maximize sales opportunities and ensure the successful delivery of solutions to our government clients.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

    Sales Leadership: Lead and manage the Federal Sales team to achieve and exceed revenue goals by developing and executing a comprehensive sales strategy focused on cloud solutions.
  • Salesforce Engagement: Build relationships that will increase collaboration with Salesforce Sales teams.
  • Federal Government Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders across Federal agencies, understanding their unique needs and challenges to tailor solutions that meet their objectives.
  • Reseller Partnerships: Cultivate and expand strategic relationships with resellers and channel partners to enhance sales opportunities and ensure successful sales enablement, training, and support.
  • Market Intelligence & Strategy: Stay informed of industry trends, regulations, and competitive landscape within the federal market, ensuring alignment with overall corporate goals.
  • Contract Management & Negotiations: Oversee and participate in contract negotiations, RFPs, and proposal submissions, ensuring compliance with government procurement policies and maintaining competitive pricing strategies.
  • Team Development & Performance Management: Develop and mentor the Federal Sales team, ensuring effective hiring, coaching, performance evaluations, and career progression opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Marketing, Product, and Operations teams to align sales efforts with company objectives and to ensure seamless execution of customer contracts and implementations.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in sales leadership roles within the Federal Government sector, with a proven track record of successfully selling software, cloud services, or technology solutions.
  • Experience working with resellers and distribution partners, driving sales growth through indirect channels.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Deep understanding of the Federal marketplace, including Federal procurement processes, key agencies, and relevant regulations such as FISMA, FedRAMP, and Section 508 compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a high-performing sales team, with experience in managing complex sales cycles and large-scale government contracts.
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to engage with senior executives and government officials at all levels.
  • Sound business judgment, strong sales, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Deep understanding of partner network.
  • Ability to travel 40% of the time.
  • Understands resell business.
  • Flexible and agile in responding to evolving business priorities and dealing with ambiguity.
  • Ability to collaborate across organization and with external stakeholders.
  • Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to hire, train, develop and manage employees with focus on performance results in a positive team environment.
  • Strong time-management and organizational ability.
  • Advanced presentation skills, with ability to guide and influence senior leaders, customers and other key stakeholders.
