The University of Wisconsin-Platteville, with campuses in Platteville (main) and Baraboo-Sauk County invites applications for the position of Dean of College of Liberal Arts and Education.
The Dean's primary roles are to further the mission of the University, while serving as the college's chief academic and administrative officer, and to provide vision and leadership that enhances the college's tradition of excellence in teaching, research, service, and outreach.
The Dean reports directly to the Provost. The salary for this position is commensurate with experience. This position will receive paid time off, health benefits and will participate in a nationally top ranked retirement program, Wisconsin Retirement System. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills and demonstrated commitment to student success and will represent the college to both internal and external partners. The Dean will provide strategic leadership within the college and across the university; commit to pedagogical best practices; enhance social equity in instruction and practice; strive for common ground among a wide variety of partners; work with faculty and staff to implement a shared vision for the college; provide progressive fiscal management; support faculty, staff, and student growth and achievement; increase and support research opportunities for students and faculty; energetically fundraise; and serve as a passionate and vocal advocate for education and the liberal arts on and off campus. Requirements:
- Earned doctorate or terminal degree in a discipline of the Liberal Arts or Education
- Rank of full professor, OR have satisfied the requirements to be promoted to the rank of full professor during the present academic year
- Minimum of 3 years of successful leadership at the level of department chair or higher
- Minimum of 3 years of recent successful classroom teaching experience at the university level
- Demonstrated success in budget development and management, strategic planning, and fundraising
- Strong commitment to public higher education
- Record of scholarly research
