The Maine Health Cancer Care Network is seeking a Nurse Navigator for our Nationally Accredited Breast program. The ideal candidate should have experience in women's health/oncology with a desire to help patients with a newly diagnosed breast cancer.

Our ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of oncology experience, a passion for patient education, ability to multitask, strong clinical and organizational skills andhave excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Oncology Certification is a plus. This is a 40-hour, day shift, Monday - Friday Position working 5-8-hour shifts. There is no call and your weekends are free!

Summary:
The Registered Nurse - Patient Navigator - role guides patients through the care continuum, establishing contact with recurrent and newly diagnosed cancer patients and/or family members, or caregivers. The Patient Navigator will understand the clinical pathways established by the Oncology Program and will direct the patients to health care services within the organization, at outside facilities, and within the community for timely diagnosis, treatment and survivorship.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required or must complete BSN within three years of start date.
  2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Oncology certification or defined process for achieving certification required.
  3. Experience: Experience working with oncology patients and families preferred. Experience in community outreach preferred.
