DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

Assist with the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical and patient safety improvements through the UMHC system.

Consistently apply continuous quality improvement methodologies to identify and design improvement strategies, assist multidisciplinary work teams, facilitate team progress, disseminate quantifiable results, and spread innovation across comparable areas.

Ensure training for and integration of clinical quality, teamwork and patient safety initiatives throughout all MUHC areas.

Meet governmental and regulatory requirements for quality of care and patient safety by staying current with relevant requirements and by assisting with survey processes as requested.

Participate in innovation and discovery related to care delivery, electronic medical record documentation or other clinical quality and patient safety improvements, with external dissemination through presentations and/or publications.

Perform clinical quality, patient safety and risk management surveillance, investigation, abstraction, review and reporting.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor's degree in a health related discipline

3 years experience in clinical quality improvement or patient safety activities

Must possess strong analytical, interpersonal and communications skills, and work well in a team environment requiring a high degree of creativity and motivation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree preferred.

3 years experience in clinical practice preferred

Previous experience in medical terminology, disease processes, treatment protocols and/or training of adult learners highly desirable
