We are looking for a
Civil Engineer to join our Community Development team in Connecticut. In this role, you will collaborate on a variety of projects, including land development, urban infill and redevelopment, municipal initiatives, mixed-use commercial and residential developments, educational facilities, permitting, and more.
Key Responsibilities
Site Design & Development - Prepare detailed site layouts, grading plans, utility designs, and erosion & sediment control plans to support a variety of land development and municipal projects. Site Planning & Documentation - Assist in the creation of comprehensive site plans and technical details, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Stormwater Management Design - Develop stormwater management systems, including detention, retention, and infiltration solutions, to ensure environmental sustainability and regulatory compliance. Field Assessments & Site Inspections - Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions, gather field data, and provide technical support for design and construction activities. Construction Oversight - Monitor construction progress, ensure adherence to design specifications, and coordinate with contractors, project managers, and regulatory agencies. Permitting & Regulatory Compliance - Assist in preparing permit applications, technical reports, and regulatory documentation to facilitate project approvals and compliance with environmental regulations.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Typically requires 5+ years' relevant experience
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Experience with construction oversight is a plus!
- EIT registration required; PE registration preferred or ability to obtain within two (2) years
- Experience with local and state permitting requirements
- Advanced AutoCAD and Civil 3D skills required; HydroCAD and StormCAD experience a plus!
