This position reports to the Commercial Park QA Manager. The position utilizes personal experience and expertise to lead all facility QA staff and assist with ensuring compliance to Westrock Coffee Safety and Quality policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
Job Duties:


  • Supervise and direct the daily activities of QA personnel in a manner that ensures effective and efficient operations
  • Oversee the customer sampling program for customers that require 3rd party lab testing
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external specifications and customer expectations while being responsible for placing out of spec product on hold and document accordingly
  • Develop the sensory capability to distinguish differences in flavors of various samples
  • Assist in implementing, maintaining, and continually improving the SQF System and internal Quality systems/processes
  • Carry out verification auditing to ensure conformance to Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory policies, procedures and practices
  • Oversee the maintenance, execution and continuous improvement of the ATP and Environmental Microbiological Monitoring Programs
  • Creation and distribution of COAs when requested by customers and/or the warehouse team
  • Participate in plant and corporate-driven projects, tests, reports, and data collection
  • Assist in the investigation of customer complaints at the request of QA Management
  • Train and mentor Quality Assurance Specialists and operational personnel to ensure the necessary skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties are met.
  • Step in as QA Specialist when needed due to lab coverage
  • Have an on-floor presence that drives quality expectations and provides support to line operators.
  • Ability to identify and report quality & food safety issues
  • Complete special projects and other duties and assignments as required



Qualifications:

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to lead and motivate personnel, and successfully drive positive change
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Associate degree or equivalent relevant experience required
  • Experience with GMPs, HACCP/FSMA Food Safety Plans, Quality Systems, and Good Documentation Practices
  • Strong working knowledge of SQF Systems preferred including Sanitation Practices (ATP Swabbing) and Environmental Monitoring Programs
  • Strong initiative, ability to anticipate issues proactively Strong working knowledge of liquid fill / beverage operations preferred
  • Computer Skills including Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
  • Experience with GMPs, HACCP/FSMA Food Safety Plans, Quality Systems, and Good Documentation Practices
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Sound Math skills e.g., Percent Calculations, averages, means, Standard deviation etc
  • Able to lift 50 lbs
  • Proven reliability and responsibility
