The EHS Specialist supports the safety and environmental functions at their assigned site. The role works on implementation of critical processes, programs, and procedures to achieve goals, objectives, and continuous improvement related to environment, health, and safety. The EHS Specialist must spend significant time on the plant floor, engaging and coaching employees, front-line leaders, maintenance, and contractors every day. As an integral part of the plant EHS team, the EHS Specialist will provide information and guidance for activities relating to the site-wide safety and operating objectives. Reports to: The plant EHS Leader Span of Control: Accountable for all EHS processes and initiatives at assigned site(s); no direct reports

- Accomplish aggressive personal and facility goals that align with division and Owens Corning corporate goals. These goals will reflect a total commitment to developing a strong safety culture, achieving a world-class safety process and the environmentally responsible operation of the facility.
- Adhere to all plant and position-specific safety policies, procedures and standards
- Educate team members on safe operations of new processes or modifications.
- Effectively communicate Owens Corning's stand on safety throughout the Plant to ensure all employees believe in and behave in a manner that supports our stand that all accidents are preventable, safety is everyone's responsibility, and that working safely is a condition of employment at Owens Corning.
- Transform plant safety and environmental performance to world-class levels that align with division and Owens Corning corporate goals
- Build and foster a positive safety culture among all plant employees
- Reduce the plant's environmental footprint in the community
- Incorporate the safety stand and safe improvements into all people-related initiatives.

- Personal Safety Action Plan (PSAP) - implement and review with leader annually
- Individual growth and development plan reviewed with leader quarterly alongside individual targets and objectives
Support compliance with governmental regulations and corporate programs
- Maintain a leadership presence on the plant floor, influence employee and leadership behaviors, and fully engage employees in the safety process.
- Possess working knowledge of the plant environmental permits and systems.
- Ensure regulatory compliance of all environmental permits and processes
- Follow and support the compliance calendar for all regulatory requirements
- Effectively address enforcement actions from local, state, or federal agencies
- Provide technical support in identifying and resolving critical regulatory issues.
- Ensure adherence to corporate policies and programs
- Maintain the corporate management systems
- Address deficiencies identified in internal EHS audits
- Lead and support safety initiatives and processes to drive towards an injury free culture.
- Lead and support environmental initiatives and process to drive towards zero NOVs.
- Tracks and accomplishes critical metrics regularly to ensure continuous improvement in the processes that lead to a 100% engaged safety culture at the plant
- Proactively participate in and lead efforts around hazard identification and risk reduction across the plant.
- Participate in or lead other activities as assigned by the EHS Leader

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in EHS Management or related field.
- Two (2) years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Three (3+) years of hands-on safety leadership experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Ability/willingness to relocate for career progression within Owens Corning
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) qualification
- Experience in a union environment
- Proficient in utilizing computer programs and Microsoft Office products.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Ability to travel as required (10-20%)
- Working knowledge of health and safety regulations and industrial hygiene protocols
- Ability to identify gaps and develop appropriately prioritized action plans
- Ability to effectively engage primary employees
- Ability to promote a team environment and must be able to initiate, lead and drive cross-functional team projects to successful completion
- Adept at developing and delivering safety training
