Position Duration: Remainder of the 2024-25 school year into the 2025-26 school year.

Job Responsibilities:

As a School-Based Social Worker, you will:



  • Provide individual and group counseling to students in various educational settings.
  • Support students facing emotional, behavioral, developmental, and academic challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to promote students' social, emotional, and academic success.
  • Develop and implement effective interventions to foster positive behavior and academic outcomes.
  • Assist with crisis intervention and offer support during difficult situations.
  • Advocate for students' well-being and coordinate with community resources when necessary.


Qualifications:

To excel as a School-Based Social Worker at PSI, you will need:



  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related field (required).
  • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Limited Licensed Master Social Worker (LLMSW) in Michigan (required).
  • Experience working with children in a school or pediatric setting (preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for helping students succeed.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Empathy, compassion, and a commitment to supporting students' mental health.
