Software Tester supporting Global Vision Care Digital Health Team, you will be responsible for leading our testing efforts and ensure the quality and reliability of our software products. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software testing, including manual and automated testing methodologies, and will play a key role in developing and executing test strategies, identifying defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that our software meets both functional and non-functional requirements.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Test Strategy Development: Design and implement comprehensive test strategies and test plans for new features and enhancements based on project requirements.
  • Test Execution: Conduct thorough manual and automated testing to identify defects and verify that software meets specified requirements, including functional, performance, and security testing.
  • Defect Management: Document, track, and prioritize defects using issue tracking tools. Collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Automation Frameworks: Develop and maintain automated test scripts using [Tricentis Tosca and qTest] and integrate these into the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior testers, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of quality within the team.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends and best practices in software testing. Identify opportunities for process improvements and propose solutions to enhance testing efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including UX/UI designers, product managers and software engineers, to ensure quality is embedded throughout the software development Lifecyle. Participate in sprint planning and retrospective meetings.
  • Contribute to project planning and estimation activities, ensuring timely delivery of features.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school+13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
  • 5+ Years of experience in software testing, with a strong background in both manual and automated testing
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
  • Travel requirements: up to 15%
