Associate Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Summary

This is a full-time entry level position performing a variety of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general accounting tasks under the direct supervision of the Senior Manager, Financial Accountant.

Roles & Responsibilities

This position has responsibility for:

Accounts Receivable:



  • Performing day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing posting and recording accounts receivable's data
  • Posting invoices and payment to accounting system (Oracle)
  • Generating credit/debit memos and account statements
  • Maintaining customers' accounts
  • Performing AR period close activities, including module closure and reconciliations
  • Maintaining accounts receivable files and records
  • Investigating and resolving any irregularities or inquiries
  • Interacting professionally with customers in billing/payment questions
  • Working closely with the sales team to resolve issues and/or discrepancies
  • Improving AR processes, as well as seeking improvements of the AR function in Oracle



Accounts Payable:



  • Collecting and managing mail
  • Assist in processing weekly checks and EFT payment runs
  • Assist in processing urgent invoices and payments
  • Assist in resolving invoice issues with suppliers, requestors, etc
  • Assisting suppliers and employees with accounts payable questions
  • Filing/organizing invoices and packing slips
  • Assisting Accounting team with new projects and implementations



Accounting:



  • Assisting Accounting Team with the period close activities: preparing and posting journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, organizing/maintaining files, etc.
  • Perform accounting research
  • Other tasks as assigned



Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)



  • Typically requires 0 to 1 years of accounts receivable and accounts payable experience
  • Proven working experience in a similar role
  • Oracle experience required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to deal with a high-volume and fast paced environment while maintaining professionalism
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Ability to absorb training and take direction



Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is a plus



Education Requirements



  • Associate's degree or at least two years of college education

USD 18.46 - 22.61 per hour
