Job Summary:
This role is responsible for overseeing and ensuring that third-party manufacturers (co-manufacturers) consistently meet Impossible Foods' stringent quality, safety, and compliance standards. The position plays a pivotal role in monitoring and evaluating the food safety and quality performance of co-manufacturers, fostering strong partnerships, and driving continuous improvement to uphold the company's commitment to delivering safe, high-quality products.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Collaborate with R&D and production teams to ensure product consistency and adherence to quality standards.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality, defect rates, and customer complaints, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Review and ensure that corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are effectively implemented to address quality concerns, working closely with co-manufacturers.
  • Conduct routine and ad hoc food safety inspections to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of audits, inspections, and quality reports for internal use and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure proper documentation is prepared and maintained for regulatory submissions, certifications, and audits.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for co-manufacturers to enhance food safety and quality practices.
  • Collaborate with procurement, supply chain, and production teams to align on quality expectations and ensure seamless execution.
  • Communicate quality expectations, performance metrics, and feedback to co-manufacturers to foster accountability and improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, which are representative of the nature and level of work required for this role.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Food Science, or a related field.
  • 2 to 5 years of leadership experience in food safety within a food manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of GMPs, sanitation practices, FDA regulations, and GFSI scheme standards.
  • Proven experience with:
Root cause analysis tools and techniques.
Conducting plant trials and implementing process improvements
  • Exceptional collaborative, reporting, and communication skills, with the ability to influence, lead, and develop others through effective training initiatives.
  • Hands-on approach with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Documentation review covers both written and electronic documentations. The document review area includes quality, food safety, sensory, preventative maintenance, and shipping.
  • Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time to manufacturing sites and storage warehouses, including on short notice.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to dynamic environments and prioritize tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced knowledge of food safety and quality systems.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams or projects.
  • Additional certifications in food safety or quality management (e.g., HACCP, PCQI).
This U.S. based, full-time position offers the above base salary range + equity + benefits + bonus plan.
Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
