Position Summary
The Haendel Group in the Department of Genetics is seeking a Research Associate to join a highly interactive, supportive, and interdisciplinary group of faculty, staff scientists, postdoctoral fellows, and students. This position will contribute to the Department of Genetics' diverse portfolio of research including grant-funded programs, potential commercialization opportunities, and partnerships. The Research Associate will leverage research experimentation and data analysis in work involving data mining and statistical analysis to uncover insights from complex datasets.

The Research Associate will be responsible for project management and quality control of data for group programs assigned. Responsibilities will also include designing and maintaining research data quality monitoring tools and research project dashboards, addressing quality issues, and ensuring compliance with reporting standards. This involves managing research operations to ensure data security and working with business application users to define and meet reporting and analytical needs. The Research Associate will manage research software and analytics programs, leading teams, and handling complex projects.

Additional duties involve resource management, communication with the research team, senior leadership, and research collaborators to implementing change management procedures while providing training.

Flexible work arrangements, including virtual/hybrid work locations, are an integral part of the School of Medicine's Working Forward initiative. As such, this position's work location is designated as virtual. Please note that the designated work location is subject to change based on the unit's business needs.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent research productivity, will accept a relevant Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution. May require terminal degree and licensure.

Experience in leading research teams
Project management which includes research data analysis projects
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Contributions to research as evidenced through the development and dissemination of research information and knowledgebases, and/or publications.
Experience in collaboratively building complex research strategies using cloud-native technologies.
Demonstrated ability to work on multiple large-scale collaborations that include a wide variety of subject matter experts.
Experience managing the flow of research data, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
Experience implementing research operational platforms to help the research team integrate with data analysis tools.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and highly motivated with the capacity to work independently.
