WAGE RANGE: $21.81 - $30.54

DEPARTMENT MISSION

To support the full mission of The Salvation Army through placement in the Recovery Home Department. To provide each client with positive, professional, and quality service; always promoting respect dignity and fairness to each client, while making appropriate referrals which will assist clients in reaching their maximum level of independence.

PROGRAM/CLIENT ENVIRONMENT

The backgrounds of the clients served by The Harbor Light Program will manifest a variety of inappropriate behaviors. When this occurs, employees are to respond within the context of the treatment environment of the site. Employee conduct (actions, dress, etc.) and interactions (conversations, written communications, etc.) with clients must also be within the treatment environment of the facility.

OUTCOMES

The Support Programs Manager will provide effective practice of treatment and recovery support for substance use disorders through their knowledge of addiction, treatment, application to practice, and their understanding in the practice of recovery orientated systems of care (ROSC) related to the client, family, and community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Telephone calls and walk-ins and incoming clients are screened for appropriateness for further evaluation based on admission policies, programs and procedure, issues appointments for evaluations and possible treatment intake or Recovery Home admission. Clients are evaluated and arrangements made for their medical screening and psychiatric evaluations.
  2. Responsible for overseeing the functions and operations of the Recovery House.
  3. Develops and monitors the implementation of the house rules, policies and procedures of the Recovery House, and administrative policies and procedures of the Harbor Light Center are maintained with cooperative and responsive to the Clinical Director.
  4. Supervision is provided to the Recovery Home Operator/Manager, Peer Support Specialists and interns.
  5. Maintains confidential participant records and/or data in a secured manner. Records are kept and other related papers are sent to departments as required in a timely manner.
  6. Completes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports in a timely manner.
  7. Maintains required training hours.
  8. Maintains open communication with Director and other staff as it relates to the necessary flow of the job and programs.
  9. Aids in the design and continual upgrading of peer mentoring and recovery support.
  10. Continually remains up to date on individual, group, and family recovery supports approaches.
  11. A good working relationship is maintained with referring agencies and V.A. hospitals; our services, policies, and procedures are explained in response to inquiries from the community or other social service agencies.
  12. Clients are admitted to Transitional Living Unit (TLU) who are at risk due to a physical or mental condition and approved by the Clinical Supervisor; IV drug users are admitted to TLU on a priority basis; those clients who are in transition from one level of care to another are admitted to TLU. Clients are transferred from TLU to other units when beds become available.
  13. Will be part of staff committees as appointed, including Management Team, and Review Board.
  14. All other duties as assigned.


REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

This position reports to the Director of Clinical Programs.

In contacts related to this position duties, this individual acts as a representative of the Army and its mission.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

This individual will be evaluated on how effectively and efficiently the outcomes of this position are achieved, as well as the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of accomplishing assigned goals.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE



  • National Certified Recovery Specialist with IAODAPCA.
  • An associate degree or equivalent number of credits toward a bachelor's degree.
  • Shared experience and a minimum of five year of sobriety needed.
  • CADC
  • Knowledge of community resources.

POSITION LIMITATIONS



  • This individual will only commit Army resources that have been allocated or approved.
  • This individual will keep the Director of Clinical Programs informed on all critical issues relating to his/her area of responsibility.
  • This individual will adhere to all Army policies and procedures in carrying out the responsibilities of this position.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT



  • This position is required to do light physical work and must be able to walk up two flights of stairs and lift up to 25lbs.
  • The work environment for this position includes an office environment with a low to medium noise level.
  • Must be able to work with clients that have poor social skills, suffer from mental illness, and have substance abuse problems.
  • Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters and maintains positive relationships with co-workers and supervisors. This would include but not be limited to such actions: resolution of conflicts in a positive manner; courteous treatment of staff, clients, and visitors; respect of others' property and person; professional and appropriate communication to and about co-workers, supervisors, and subordinates.
