Position Description:

Purpose

Independently perform a variety of duties involved in the collection, interpretation, and documentation of data in support of research and/or informational gathering activities within a research lab setting through direct interaction with research participants.

Primary Functions

  • Perform a variety of duties involved in collecting, interpreting, documenting, and summarizing descriptive, analytical, and evaluative data in support of research and/or informational gathering activities.
  • Procure data through direct interaction with research participants via observation, interviews, and analysis of records and other sources to include the utilization of electronic equipment and devices and assist in supervising lower-level employees and trainees.
  • Coordinate and participate in the coding and keypunching of data, record the coded data on standard forms in the preparation for further processing and analysis, write summaries of descriptive data, and prepare graphic representations as required.
  • Recommend new methods for collection and documentation of data; write and revise procedural manuals as required.
  • Make work assignments for and review the work of lower-level employees and trainees and assist in the onboarding and training of new employees.
  • Under the direction of the study coordinator, lab manager, or principal investigator, conduct research activities to include recruiting, consenting, enrolling, and following up with research participants, administering surveys, interviews, and observations in the research lab or community settings.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends, and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.
  • Maintain data files and related information.
  • Under the direction of the study coordinator, lab manager, or principal investigator, submit, amend, and/or complete annual reviews of IRB protocols.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein including but not limited to:
    • Attend and participate in research meetings
    • Coordinate and schedule research visits in person or online
    • Correspond via email, phone, or text
    • Compile outreach packets
    • Maintain research files and a log of stipend checks and/or gift certificates to be distributed to research participants

Preferred Schedule:




Full-time role with expectations for coverage during core business hours and flexibility required as necessary to accommodate business needs.



Position Requirements:

Specifications

Appropriate experience may be substituted on equivalent basis

Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree

Minimum Required Experience: 2 year's

Preferred Experience: Previous experience in conducting research with infants/toddlers is highly desirable. However, previous experience leading structured activities for infants/toddlers (e.g., nanny, daycare provider, etc.) will also be viewed favorably.
