As a member of the engineering team, the Applications Engineer Tech is the Tier II customer support/interface for business unit product field related issues. Key Responsibilities *Assists internal & external customers with product troubleshooting & diagnostic tasks and assignments. *Familiar with product performance, installation, and troubleshooting with a hands-on practical mechanical intuitive approach. *Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish organizational and customer support goals. *Performs a variety of tasks. May adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment and techniques to meet the more complex requirements of the position. *Resolves most product questions and problems through warranty replacements and refers only the most complex issues to higher levels. *Works under general supervision with a certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. *Travels to customers installation sites: ~ 15-25% to represent Zurn Elkay in the field to observe product installation and field performance.Leadership Competencies *Action Oriented - Taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm. *Customer Focus - Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions. *Instills Trust - Gaining the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity. *Optimizes Work Processes - Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement. *Self-Development - Actively seeking new ways to grow and be challenged using both formal and informal development channels.Requirements *2-year associate degree in the related technical field preferred. *Minimum 2 years technical and product knowledge *Knowledge of plumbing and fixture installation *Knowledge of product application use for commercial and residential buildings *Basic knowledge of electronic application for varies plumbing products *Strong oral communication, written communication and mechanical abilities required *Must be a problem solver, self starter, good listener, and have the ability to handle delicate customer situations *Critical thinker for analyzing and diagnosing the problem or issue for root cause and problem resolution *Strong presentation skills Total Rewards and Benefits
