Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is currently searching for a qualified full-time Survey Instrument Operator. This position will work with a survey crew chief in the field collecting data to support design activities, boundary surveying, providing sketches, and layout to support construction activities.

* Discharge duties as requested by Crew Chief
* Perform field work for land surveying scopes of work including construction staking, boundary location, ALTA, and topography for various project types
* Organize survey truck, survey equipment and survey supplies as necessary
* Operate GPS, total stations, scanners, and data collectors
* Transfer files between data collectors and internal company project folders
* Maintain productive working relationships with clients and coworkers
* Adhere to the company's Safety, Quality Management and Equipment Maintenance policies
* Ensures division, regional, and company values, policies and practices are consistently followed within the survey service.
* Lead by example - display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.

* Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments
* Ability to carry survey equipment and supplies in remote, rural, or urban surroundings
* Ability to lift 50 pounds and walk long distances
* Ability to work in outdoor conditions subject to weather, insects, and changing environments

* Ability to work under guidance of a survey crew chief and take to training and mentorship
* Must be able to operate a total station and GPS in both static and RTK modes surveying activities pertaining to control networks, boundaries, ALTA's, topography, and construction staking.
* Must be able to operate a motor vehicle with a valid license and clean driving history
* OSHA 10 and CPR/First Aid or ability and willingness to acquire it
* Must be able perform tasks and solve problems with a high degree of independence
* Basic "office suite" computer skills

* An Associate's Degree in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related area of study
* Land Development, both Commercial and Residential, and Public Infrastructure Projects
* Coordinating activities with office personnel, including surveying technicians and engineering staff
* Experience searching for/recovering boundary monuments in the Public Land Survey System and metes and bounds states
* FAA Part 107 UAS License
