Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Forecast/Resource Scheduler to support our team at the NASA White Sands Complex (WSC) in Las Cruces, New Mexico. You'll be responsible for scheduling NASA Ground Terminal and Tracking and Data Relay Satellite (TDRS) resources based on both internal and external input to meet customer support requirements. The Forecast/Resource Scheduler will verify availability of these resources and perform conflict resolution with NASA customers and local WSC and TDRS resources. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

This position will be responsible for:

    Coordinate with internal/external customers and network elements to schedule activities on operational systems at the WSC.
  • Review activity requirements and the current WSC schedule to determine possible impacts and the most appropriate timeframe in which to conduct requested activities.
  • Performs conflict resolution with the customer community based on priority lists.
    Prioritize and coordinate customer requests for Space Network resources to meet spacecraft mission requirements, network testing activities and demand maintenance requirements.
  • Read and understand network briefing messages and fulfill the Forecast/Resource scheduler's role during routine and critical activities.
  • Maintain and update the WSC Daily Schedule and the WSC Long Range Calendar.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • Education/Experience: degree in related technical field and relevant experience is required as follows: 2 years' experience with BS/BA; 4 years' experience with AA/AS degree; without a degree, 6 years' experience is allowable.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Security clearance - this position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance and to maintain the clearance thereafter. In order to obtain a clearance you must be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.

Desired Experience:

  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Prior mission planning experience and TDRS operations experience.
  • Possess the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to work in a highly dynamic work environment.
  • Strong organizational skills are a plus.

Target Salary Range

$51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
