Adobe has long been a leader in creative software for video and image adjustment. Creative cloud software is used world-wide for broadcast, streaming, and cinema workflows, and Adobe is constantly innovating to improve the color fidelity and color workflows available to artists creating the media experiences of tomorrow.
The Digital Video Audio organization is looking for an experienced color scientist with a strong understanding of color theory, human color perception, SDR and HDR video display technologies, video quality control and data analysis, and color management workflows including ACES and OCIO. The candidate must have a strong mathematical background and familiarity with color space transform math for video and print, tone and gamut mapping and related technologies, and still and video color adjustment and image adjustment techniques.
Your job responsibilities will include researching, inventing, designing, and aiding the development of new color technologies, color adjustment methods, color perception models, color measurement techniques, color management features and workflows, and color standard interoperability methods; working with applications teams and Adobe Research to align their efforts with best practices and standards to expand and maintain standards compliance and format compatibility with emerging image and video technologies and color processing techniques; and interfacing with standards bodies to influence the development of emerging video standards relevant to these efforts.
Desired Skills, Experience, & Qualifications
  • An advanced degree in a related field of study with at least 3 years of practical work experience in video or cinema finishing/color workflows, color workflow for VFX, video engineering, color management, display metrology, color tools development, or a related industry; alternately 6 years of practical experience in video or cinema finishing/color workflows, color workflow for VFX, video engineering, color management, display metrology, color tools development, or a related industry, with proven mathematical color tools and color management development experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to take bold initiatives and the ability to solve hard problems, prioritize work, and make decisions.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical modeling and software skills and ability to work with multiple levels of abstractions.
  • Proficiency in Mathematica, Matlab, or equivalent mathematical software.
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to present in formal briefings.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $133,900 -- $242,000 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
