The Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) is hiring a Correction Maintenance & Management Program Administrator to oversee maintenance operations at SCCF. This leadership role ensures the preservation of TDOC's facility investments through effective maintenance management, policy enforcement, and knowledge transfer. The administrator will coordinate inmate labor assignments, oversee contractor compliance, and ensure proper upkeep of equipment and infrastructure.

Job Overview:

The Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) is hiring a Correction Maintenance & Management Program Administrator to oversee maintenance operations at SCCF. This leadership role ensures the preservation of TDOC's facility investments through effective maintenance management, policy enforcement, and knowledge transfer. The administrator will coordinate inmate labor assignments, oversee contractor compliance, and ensure proper upkeep of equipment and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign and track trained inmates in maintenance crews.
  • Ensure secure storage of maintenance supplies and equipment.
  • Oversee contractor work and track maintenance requests.
  • Monitor critical systems (security electronics, fire safety, HVAC) to prevent failures. Improve preventative maintenance programs to extend equipment lifespan.
  • Assess facility infrastructure and recommend repairs or replacements.
  • Prepare annual budget forecasts for major repairs and equipment needs.
  • Prioritize and delegate tasks effectively to ensure timely and accurate completion of work.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate or Technical Degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution and eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in correctional facility management, engineering, construction management, or a related field, with at least four (4) years in a supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Adobe) and construction project management systems.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and management skills.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Experience in facility maintenance, infrastructure management, and correctional facility operations.
  • Knowledge of inmate labor programs and correctional facility maintenance procedures.
