Scope of Position The Manager of Anesthesiology Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) assists the Director in leading a team of specialized APPs consisting of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) and Anesthesiologist Assistants (AAs) and managing the daily operations of various service lines, divisions, and/or clinics. Along with the Lead APPs, the APP Manager seeks to cultivate collaboration, enthusiasm, and mutual respect among the multidisciplinary team. The team provides anesthetic-related patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient outcomes, optimized patient involvement in his/her own plan of care, reduced length of hospitalization, and decreased costs. The APP Manager is responsible for managing CRNA and AA personnel across multiple service lines, divisions and/or clinics. The APP Manager is also responsible for providing direct patient care within their scope of practice set forth by OSUWMC and the department of Anesthesiology. Position Summary The Anesthesiology APP Manager assists the Director with the planning, organization, direction and evaluation of the health care services provided by the department of Anesthesiologys CRNAs and AAs. Under the guidance of the Director, the APP Manager assists in managing, guiding, coaching, and evaluating the work performance of the departments APP providers. Contributing to the ongoing operations of perioperative services throughout the Health System and collaborating with other departments/areas that relate to patient care services is essential. Minimum Qualifications Graduate of an accredited doctoral or masters degree Nurse Anesthesia program or masters degree graduate from an accredited Anesthesiologist Assistant program. Active national certification to practice as a CRNA or AA. Current license to practice as a CRNA or AA in the State of Ohio. Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), Master of Health Administration (MHA), and/or Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree preferred. At least (5) years experience practicing as a CRNA or AA and (2) years experience in a lead role preferred. |
