Join Our Dynamic Market Transformation Team!
We are looking for an Initiative Manager to join our growing Market Transformation team. This role will report to the Senior Manager of Market Deployment. The Market Transformation team is responsible for scoping, designing, and implementing a portfolio of emerging technology initiatives, to accelerate the adoption of new energy efficient technologies in Minnesota. As an Initiative Manager for residential air source heat pumps (ASHPs) you will be responsible for spearheading the initiative strategy for ASHPs with our internal team and external partners and overseeing market deployment to increase technology adoption. The position will be responsible for implementing training deployment, contractor network management, utility collaboration, supply chain collaboration, and marketing collaboration . Market deployment will be managed in partnership with other team members, subcontractors and other market partners.

What You'll Do
We are seeking a driven person that is motivated by our mission to discover and deploy the most effective strategies for reduction of energy and carbon emissions. The ideal candidate will be collaborative and adaptive in their approach to work and have experience with energy efficiency, utility programs and residential HVAC technology.
Program management



  • Maintaining focus on results and impact by ensuring high quality program delivery and goal attainment
  • Oversee daily program operations including managing the initiative budget, supporting the annual workplan development, assisting with internal tracking and report of ASHP activities
  • Work with market research and evaluation team to track and monitor product market share and other market progress indicators (MPIs)
  • Collaboratively participate in the development of the program theory of transformation for this technology with internal and external partners
  • Design and deploy additional or new market intervention strategies to accelerate the adoption of technology
  • Assist with market analysis and adapt strategies based on results



Staff and team management



  • Lead cross functional team in developing and continuously refining program strategy, activities and results
  • Manage direct report staff in program deployment activities
  • Support direct report staff in ongoing career development and professional growth
  • Manage the selection and day-to-day work of subcontractors as needed to support the initiative activities



Internal and external stakeholder engagement and communication



  • Lead regular engagement with utility stakeholders to understand perspectives and align activities and outcomes to advance air source heat pump technology
  • In collaboration with existing internal team, maintain productive working partnerships with HVAC manufacturers, distributors and contractors to understand barriers and opportunities for ASHPs and advance initiative goals
  • Collaborate nationally to understand activities, best practices and opportunities in other regions
  • Understand and clearly communicate the product definition, theory of change, and program value to key market actors



Market Deployment (resource development, training delivery, contractor network management and marketing)



  • Oversee and maintain the development of tools and educational resources to increase uptake of ASHP technology
  • Oversee the development and delivery of training curriculum and delivery to key market actors to promote increased installation of ASHP technology
  • Oversee ASHP contractor network requirements and program maintenance
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on activities to encourage increased awareness and customer demand for ASHP technology.

Skills & Knowledge We're Looking For



  • Energy efficiency program implementation experience preferred
  • Experience with the HVAC supply chain supply chain preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with program management, including developing work plans, coordinating/managing the work of others, and responsibility for producing work products
  • Demonstrated experience hiring and managing staff, managing results and facilitating professional development
  • Demonstrated experience with program training and marketing activities
  • Strong ability to craft clear and compelling deliverables
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of teams and external partners



Preferred Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience in relevant field required
  • Minimum of 5 years of previous experience in energy efficiency program management or comparable experience in the residential HVAC industry



Compensation



  • Dependent on qualifications and experience, we expect the compensation range for this position will be $94,000-$100,000.
