About the role:

As a Principal Licensing Engineer, you will perform new plants licensing activities associated with nuclear reactors and maintain relationships w/ customers as focal point for communication.

You will report to the New Plants Licensing Manager for Safety Analysis, Risk Applications, and Licensing. You work a hybrid scenario based at Westinghouse Global Headquarters in Cranberry Woods, PA. No relocation provided. We can entertain candidates able to work without sponsorship now and in the future.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement licensing approaches for New Plant products and services



  • Prepare input for New Plant proposals like work definition, coordination of technical descriptions, scheduling



  • Develop Safety Analysis Reports, licensing change evaluations (e.g. 10 CFR 50.59), license amendment requests and Topical Reports



  • Maintain relationships w/ customers as focal point for communication between Westinghouse engineering, Westinghouse customers/licensees, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), and other international licensing authorities



  • Support Westinghouse development efforts creating licensing documents for submittal to Westinghouse customers and the NRC, focused on new plant technologies



  • Provide licensing and technical expertise for projects, including communication with Westinghouse leadership



  • Deliver licensing presentations to all partners.



  • Evaluate engineering design changes for regulatory requirements




Qualifications:


  • 10+ years of experience



  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering



  • Nuclear licensing skills like development of 10 CFR 50.59 evaluations, License Amendments, and topical reports



  • Familiar w/ NRC regulations and nuclear industry guidance



  • Familiar w/ AP1000 design, operation, and work processes



  • A subject matter expert in one or technical or licensing discipline



  • Nuclear safety and customer focus outlook



  • <10% travel to support customer, industry, or regulator activities
