Role Summary

The Sr. Lead, Accommodations is responsible for managing the evaluation and approval of reasonable accommodations for employees with disabilities in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other types of accommodation requests. This role involves reviewing supporting documentation, facilitating communication between employees, managers and HR as part of the interactive process, and ensuring legal compliance both in the process and outcomes.


Responsibilities

  • Initiate and manage the interactive process with employees and managers.
  • Analyze medical or other supporting documentation to understand employee workplace restrictions.
  • Assess whether requested accommodations are reasonable and necessary in accordance with applicable law and identify effective solutions.
  • Maintain appropriate records of accommodation requests, supporting documentation and information, and outcomes in a manner that complies with applicable law and company policy.
  • Educate employees and managers on the Company's accommodation process, compliance and best practices.
  • Manage a caseload of accommodation requests, ensuring timely responses and follow-up.
  • The Accommodations Specialist will play a critical role in fostering an inclusive workplace, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and supporting employees with disabilities in performing their essential job functions.

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years experience handling workplace accommodations requests.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other relevant laws that apply to workplace accommodation requests.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with employees, supervisors, and key internal/external stakeholders and partners.
  • Ability to analyze information and determine appropriate accommodations.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage a caseload and maintain accurate documentation.
  • High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential medical and other personal information.
  • Experience in Human Resources, employee relations, or a related field is preferred.

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for Normal, IL based applicants: $145,000 - $181,000 annually (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time and part-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Full Time Employee coverage is effective on the first day of employment. Part-Time employee coverage is effective the first of the month following 90 days of employment.
