Overview
The Quality Assurance Inspector is a full-time onsite position at the production plant in Houston, Texas (77017 & 77075). The QAI reports directly to the Production Manager and VP of Modular for daily activities, and to the Director of Quality Assurance and Safety for safety or quality assurance-related corporate matters. The QAI will assist the Production Manager as a secondary responsibility to QA and Safety.
The QAI is a full-time, 40-hour per week employee, on-site 8am - 5pm, or similar. During 24-hour production periods, it is expected that work hours may adjust to meet the requirements of the production process.
QAI is required to have their own transportation, to and from work. They must also meet the physical requirements of the job, which include the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect products before, during, and after manufacturing.
- Observe production process and align standards with ACSI QAQC
- Monitor operations to ensure they meet production standards
- Recommend process improvements
- Operate inspection equipment and software as necessary
- Identify defects and suggest corrective actions
- Maintain records of inspections and test results
- Provide feedback to production teams, ACSI, and ModCorr management
- Stay updated on industry best practices
- Monitoring the production line to ensure consistent results
- Analyzing error logs and data feeds from ACSI/production plant to assist in identifying problems
- Working with production, engineering, and management teams to improve quality control plans
- Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company standards
- Examining and inspecting containers, materials, and products to ensure specifications are met.
- Weighing, measuring, and counting products and materials.
- Documenting product, packaging, and other information.
- Examining/Comparing inspection data with receiving to ensure accurate quantities and sizes, reporting any discrepancies.
- Taking photos and preparing quality control reports.
- Communicating with the ModCorr Director of Quality Assurance and Safety for corporate inspection priorities.
- Communicating/Reporting any safety non-conformance to the ACSI Plant Manager, ModCorr VP of Modular, and the Director of Quality Assurance and Safety.
- Cease any unsafe acts immediately
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of statistical process control, lean manufacturing, and testing protocols
- Ability to analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- The ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing in English.
- The ability to communicate issues or concerns to the appropriate parties.
- The ability to conduct basic math calculations.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook).
- The ability to work independently or on a team, and to work with limited supervision.
- A positive attitude.
Physical Demands:
- Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
- Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
- Occasional lifting (up to 30 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
- Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements).
- Work in an environment ranging between approximately 30- & 90 degrees Fahrenheit
