General Purpose

PLC Technicians maintain and repair industrial control systems. They're tasked with troubleshooting programmable logic controllers, ensuring seamless automation processes, and implementing system improvements for optimal operational efficiency.

Job Duties and Responsibilities



  • Install, program, troubleshoot and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • Diagnose and repair faults in PLC control systems
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings
  • Design, implement and modify PLC control systems
  • Ensure that PLC systems meet safety and quality standards, including regulatory compliance
  • Provide technical support to production personnel
  • Perform preventative maintenance on PLC systems
  • Ability and knowledge to work with legacy systems
  • Stay up to date with new technologies and advancements in PLC systems, specifically Rockwell Automation
  • VFD installation, programming, and troubleshooting



Education and Experience



  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in PLC troubleshooting and programming
  • Knowledge of PLC programming languages such as ladder logic, function block diagram, and structured text
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with industrial automation systems and equipment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and be on-call for emergency repairs
