The Department of Human Services (DHS), Torrance State Hospital is seeking caring individuals who have worked with troubled youth and sex offending youth or adults to be part of the Sexual Responsibility Treatment Program (SRTP) team. Our program deals with youth adjudicated of certain sex crimes who are about to reach their 21st birthday, but are still in need of continued treatment. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Sexual Responsibility and Treatment Program Aide, you will provide instruction and assistance to residents carrying out therapeutic activities and daily living tasks as prescribed in individualized treatment plans. You will instruct residents about expected behavior, observe residents for signs of disorder or tension, and counsel residents regarding domestic or emotional adjustment problems. This role requires the ability to form effective and cooperative working relationships with staff while developing therapeutic relationships with patients that help them attain established treatment goals. In addition, you will escort patients to and from therapeutic activity areas, document patient progress, and participate in therapeutic training programs. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work a rotating schedule, weekends, and holidays as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Psychiatric or Therapeutic Activities Aide; or
- Eighteen (18) months of experience in the care, activities and personal guidance of individuals in a behavioral, educational or community-based program.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
