POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Planner's primary objective is the planning of all resources to ensure safe and efficient execution of all scheduled maintenance work, thus keeping plant equipment in condition to deliver full design capacity and reliability, optimizing assets profitability for the life of the organization. A major part of this is maintaining an efficient preventive maintenance program. Works closely with maintenance/quarry manager and maintenance team in achieving these objectives. Maintenance Planner being competent in welding, mechanical and electrical maintenance practices is highly desired. All personnel will be responsible for the facilities' Safe Food initiative based on FSMA and Current Good Manufacturing Practices. RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS: What are the 5-8 major responsibilities/activities of the role and 2-3 major expectations attributed to each activity? Manage Preventative Maintenance Program at the plant level
- Plan, schedule and coordinate corrective and preventive maintenance activities. Work with plant management to continuous upgrade PMs and tasks.
- Assist with purchasing function of parts to perform needed repairs and maintenance.
- Ensure CMMS software data files are complete and current, including equipment tables and equipment BOM's.
- Develop a weekly schedule and assists the maintenance supervisor in determining job priorities.
- Purchasing, inventory and invoice management support
Plan major equipment outage schedules utilizing
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate maintenance crew and or contractors to perform major plant equipment outages.
- Assist purchasing to procure parts for major outages.
- Develop cost estimates for major jobs and tracks actual vs. budgeted spending for major jobs and outages.
- Develop 1 year and 3-year Major equipment outage plans in Excel or MS Project format.
- Assist Maintenance Manager to develop budget and capex plans for future years.
Identify, analyze and review maintenance problems with management
- Submit and review backlog list with priorities to Operations and Maintenance Supervisor.
- Coordinate availability of manpower, parts, materials, equipment.
Reporting
- Maintain records, charts, and indexes. Including but not limited to: MSHA records, Environmental records, and ISO records.
- Post weekly and monthly Key Performance Indicators and trends.
- Report on Performance versus goals.
- Close out work orders daily, inputting history and comments
Perform other duties as assigned. ATTRIBUTES:
- Must be capable of working any shift, on-call, overtime, or seven days a week, if needed
- Must be willing to be hands-on and not afraid to perform other work assigned to help the team be successful.
- Formal training in the Maintenance Planning or Scheduling function is
desired.
- Must have a valid Florida driver's license.
- Willing to take technical training classes.
- Knowledge and application in the management of maintenance labor / equipment data and use of the CMMS system is essential.
- Good organization, time management, communication and people skills are a must.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate on all levels.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and meeting all required deadlines.
- Strong sense of urgency in meeting customer needs.
- Good understanding of environmental, safety and the desire to following all established procedures are required.
- All personnel will be responsible for the facilities' Safe Food initiative based on FSMA and Current Good Manufacturing Practices
- Must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and Access are required. SAP and MS Project experience is a plus, but not required. Previous SAP knowledge is a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Must be physically able to perform work assigned.
- Must be physically capable of accessing all plant locations.
- Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as safe exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust.
- Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.
- Will be working in both an office environment and in a mining environment.
- The employee may be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Metallic Particles.
- The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to travel up to 10-20% as needed or directed by leadership
- Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Some advanced training and/or college coursework directed toward an approved accredited degree or equivalent work experience is with SAP, purchasing, electrical/instrumentation and maintenance practices.
PREFFERED EDUCATION:
- 1 - 3 years electrical/instrumentation experience, Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or technical related
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Must have 1-3 years of heavy industrial experience in maintenance supervisor, planning electrical or mechanical. Experience to include planning, scheduling or SAP maintenance processes. Working knowledge of industrial electrical maintenance. Strong on SAP and purchasing processes.
PREFFERED EXPERIENCE:
- 4 years plus of previous maintenance planning or supervision in a heavy manufacturing and/or mining experience is highly preferred.
