WM has a Senior Project Manager position available in Winslow, ME. This position oversees daily operations and activities of assigned electrical projects ranging in size from $250K to $6M+ for utility, industrial, and commercial clients. Responsibilities include ensuring the overall profitability of the project. The position also provides engineering and technical support for assigned projects as necessary.

Project Management Responsibilities:

Oversee daily operations and activities of multiple projects ranging in size from $250k to $6.0M +. Responsibilities include ensuring the overall profitability of assigned projects with a strong focus on cost, schedule, and scope management.



  • Responsible for detailed knowledge of contractual terms, conditions, insurance and scopes of work
  • Works closely with Project Operations Manager and BU Manager on all aspects of project management
  • Ensures that all project team members clearly understand the scope of WM responsibilities on assigned projects
  • Develops and maintains standard communication and technical documentation for project implementation (RFIs, Transmittals, Submittals, Change Requests, Project Plans, Status Updates, etc.)
  • Responsible for all project invoicing to the customer
  • Develops and maintains project schedules per WM and customer requirements
  • Evaluates and reports progress on project(s) and details changes
  • Responsible for all purchasing and subcontractor requirements for assigned projects
  • Responsible for the development of costs and proposal of change orders to contract scope
  • Negotiates change orders to comply with customer and contract requirements
  • Develops and implements a cash flow plan for the project including A/R collections
  • Provides timely financial forecasts on costs, budgets, C/O's, and schedule
  • Serves as WM's primary interface with the customer during the implementation phase of assigned projects
  • Works with the Manufacturing Manager continuously to ensure we have all required shop resources for scheduled work ahead of time
  • Works with the Purchasing Manager continuously to ensure we have all necessary material and equipment for scheduled work
  • Develops skills in reading and interpreting technical and commercial contracts
  • Develops skills in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
  • Ensures compliance with all regulations, codes etc as they apply to the contract and project(s)


      Engineering Responsibilities: This position may be responsible for implementing conceptual design and technical review of projects. This includes both internal design efforts and client reviews.



      • Work closely with the Technical Services Department to review customer specifications for each project to ensure all requirements are adhered to
      • Work closely with the Technical Services Department to ensure complete and accurate documentation is released to the floor for fabrication
      • Act as technical lead for resolving issues uncovered during manufacturing


      Marketing Responsibilities: Identify sales opportunities, have the confidence to suggest scope changes with justifications, have ability to network across targeted industries, and assist with sales quotation development.

      Other Responsibilities include:



      • Interprets policies and procedures and ensures they are followed within the business unit
      • Responsible for ensuring budgets are met for the business unit
      • The position is also responsible for managing major proposal development (when assigned)


      Requirements:



      1. Education - A BS degree in electrical or mechanical engineering is preferred. Business degree or other technical degree with equivalent experience may be considered.
      2. Experience - 7+ years of experience is preferred including project management of electrical construction projects, with a strong preference for electric utility experience. A background in business development is highly desirable. Strong leadership and client relations skills are essential. Project Management Professional membership and accreditation (or desire to become accredited) by Project Management Institute as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus.
      3. Skills - Strong computing skills, such as, Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, Sharepoint, etc.


      Physical Demands of Position Seeing, color perception, hearing, listening, clear speech, dexterity in hands, driving, ability to travel distances for meetings and projects to meet deadlines.

      Working Conditions Standard office environment: frequent use of personal computer, copy machines, and other office equipment.
