With a close-knit office team and a field crew of 42 employees (expected to grow to 80+), this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accountant to take a leadership role in a rapidly expanding business.

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager to join our team. This role will report directly to the CEO and play a key part in overseeing financial operations, handling month-end close, and ensuring the company's financial health as it continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and execute general ledger (GL) accounting, journal entries, month-end close, AR, payroll, and financial reporting.

  • Manage financial operations for both the core business and a secondary co-working space (~3 hours/month of work for the latter).

  • Utilize Viewpoint Vista (GL system) for accounting functions; familiarity with larger GL systems preferred.

  • Ensure financial accuracy and compliance, supporting the CEO in financial strategy.

  • Work closely with the leadership team and office staff to improve financial processes and efficiencies.

  • Assist with financial planning and analysis to support business growth.

  • Potential to mentor or manage accounting staff as the company scales.

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of accounting experience; open to a strong senior stepping up or a seasoned accountant (15+ years) who is tech-savvy and adaptable.

  • Experience in smaller, blue-collar businesses (construction, plumbing, utilities, general contracting, etc.) - no large or public company backgrounds.

  • Strong experience in GL accounting, journal entries, payroll, and month-end close.

  • CPA is not required but preferred.

  • Comfortable working in a small office environment with a growing team.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

  • Easy-going personality with a go-getter attitude.

Perks & Benefits:

  • 401(k) match (Safe Harbor plan: first 3% fully matched, 4-5% matched at 50%).

  • Hybrid work schedule available after onboarding (1-2 remote days per week).

  • Flexible hours - start time between 6:00 AM - 9:30 AM.

  • Unlimited PTO.

  • Healthcare stipend until full health benefits roll out in 2026.

  • Telehealth, discounted prescription plan, and Aflac supplemental insurance.

  • Dental and vision coverage.

  • Education assistance - willing to cover costs for CPA/Becker courses and exam fees.

Why Join Us?

  • Be the lead accounting professional in a fast-growing company.

  • Directly impact business decisions and financial strategy.

  • Work in a tight-knit, flexible, and supportive environment.

  • Exciting growth potential as the company expands rapidly.
