What You Will Do: Gannett Fleming TranSystems is seeking a Senior Project Engineer, Municipal Water to join our Water Group in Austin, Texas! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Austin, TX office. As a Senior Project Engineer, Municipal Water/Wastewater Engineer you will use your technical and management abilities to plan, design and construct water/wastewater infrastructure in a dynamic team setting as well as to mentor junior staff. This represents an excellent career opportunity for a proven self-starter capable of leading the design of medium to large scale projects with a customer-centric mentality with an emphasis on delivery quality at the highest level. In the capacity, you will be responsible for the following: Participating on project teams in the planning, design and construction administration of municipal and industrial water and wastewater infrastructure facilities and projects Client interaction, presentations, and project coordination. Coordinating work activities by various technical staff and consultants including developing and implementing study and design standards for consultants to follow, leading progress meetings, preparing meeting agendas and minutes, tracking project schedules, and budgets. All design aspects for large wastewater treatment facilities, including plans, specifications, cost estimates, reports, etc. Coordinating work activities and communicating with various municipalities and governmental regulating agencies. Oversee construction contract management and observation services Preparation of reports and permit applications Demonstrate professional technical writing and verbal skills Education \| Experience: What you will bring to our firm: BS in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering 8 - 10 years of experience required in water/wastewater, particularly as a water/wastewater engineer designing (study, plans and specifications) water and/or wastewater infrastructure (i.e. treatment and collection/distribution projects) Progressive experience in the evaluation, design, permitting and construction administration of water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, water storage and distribution facilities, and wastewater collection systems. Project experience with City of Austin or TXDOT required Team player possessing strong planning and organizational skills Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective client presentations and written report preparation. Familiar with basic Storm Drain Design Familiar with Basic Elements of Roadway Design What we prefer you bring: * Professional Engineer License is preferred but not required * MS is preferred * Experience with small and large diameter pipes and pipeline experience a plus. * Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or BIM is preferred. Compensation: The range for this position is salary range is $110,000 - $140,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
