Georgia-Pacific Gypsum is looking for a dynamic, eager, and experienced Shipping Team Lead to join our skilled team in Savannah, GA. As the Shipping Team Leader, your role will involve utilizing your leadership skills, logistics experience, and communication abilities to identify and implement improvements in people, processes, and systems. Your primary focus will be on ensuring safety as the top priority while leading a team of employees. Your goal will be to exceed shipping expectations for operations, vendors, and customers by driving manufacturing excellence, quality, and continuous improvement Shift:12-hour night shift (4pm-4am) with weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Our Team The Savannah Gypsum facilities employs approximately 200 individuals in helping Georgia-Pacific as one of the nation's leading gypsum board manufacturers. What You Will Do * Utilize the PBM Guiding Principles to lead the team, support the department manager, and foster teamwork throughout GP Savannah. * Monitor and enforce compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety standards while proactively identifying opportunities for improvement * Plan and prioritize work assignments for the team to ensure optimal workflow and productivity. * Coordinate with other departments, such as operations, logistics, and sales, to ensure smooth operations and timely order fulfillment * Oversee inventory management and conduct daily/monthly inventory counts and audits to ensure inventory accuracy * Fill in manpower gaps with truck loading and office tasks when necessary * Assist with daily pre shift meetings and prepare daily reports on shipping metrics and inventory levels * Oversee mobile equipment fleet operations and ensure the completion of all housekeeping items daily. * Accommodate a flexible work schedule based on business needs * Effectively communicate (verbal and written) with team members and other departments. * Problem-solve to identify and address issues in shipping operations and implement efficient solutions. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) * Experience in a shipping and/or warehouse role * Experience with inventory management and data entry * Experience operating a forklift and other shipping support equipment * Experience using Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Word) What Will Put You Ahead * Prior supervisor or team lead experience * Flatbed loading experience At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
