Headquartered in both Kansas City and Topeka, Evergy employs about 4,900 people who are dedicated to empowering a better future. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for Technician Meter I in Wichita, Kansas.

Technicians I and II, Meter "shall possess a two-year college degree in electronics or equivalent and have the ability and aptitudes for training through a two-year program to become a Technician III, Meter. They shall be qualified through knowledge and experience to assist a Technician III or Senior Technician."

This is a highly technical position dealing with all types of meter and communications systems. The successful candidate must possess the following skills:
* Computer-ability to use new software as required utilizing the documentation provided.
* Demonstrated electrical/electronic schematic reading, with component level electronics troubleshooting capability.
* Have a working understanding of TCP/IP, Serial, and DNP
* Knowledge of complex metering
* Advanced math skills
* Personal characteristics suitable for making contact with customers and the public which are necessary in their line of duty
* Travel across Evergy's service territory and some overnight travel
