Technical Specialist - Hydraulics and Actuators

The candidate will lead technical solutions in their field of expertise to ensure the best technical and economic positioning of the company in relation to the competition, contribute to the prospective vision of the field of expertise and carry out benchmarks. Suggest KPIs for their field of expertise, develop innovative technical solutions by significantly developing products or industrial processes. Ensure the technological intelligence for their area of expertise.

The candidate will be capable of suggesting effective solutions to resolve any technical problem in their area of expertise. Take part in decision-making bodies when necessary (technical reviews, project milestones, will lead the management and sharing of knowledge through teaching in their field of expertise (knowledge capitalization documents, internal network coordination, etc.) and train the specialists in their technical field of expertise.

The candidate will understand the best practices in their field of expertise and they contribute, in particular, in terms of technical solutions to enhance reference systems of knowledge and know-how in their field of expertise. Contribute to or put forward the technical policy for their specific field of expertise.

Skills are recognized in their field of expertise: their advice and opinions have a bearing on technical choices in their field of expertise. They actively contribute to the network of expertise and organize internal conferences and communications for their field of expertise, Work is published in scientific/specialist magazines and/or external communications. Take part in bodies at national level or international level, where relevant (standardization, professional)

The candidate will provide technical support and leadership within the transmission and driveline product release center engineering team for given propulsion system components.

Responsibilities



  • Lead and ensure key components design best practices, lessons learned and continuous improvements are followed and integrated into product design release process
  • Lead technical infrastructure lead for key components, documentation, specifications, requirements definitions and drawing signoffs for key supplied components
  • Lead and/or support all engineering topics needing this domain expertise.
  • Promote intellectual property identification and development
  • Coaching, training and mentoring less experienced engineers

Basic Qualifications:



  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree field
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in propulsion systems, automatic transmissions or related field
  • Experience with design and release of components of A/T valve bodies, actuators and pumps with PCBs
  • Expertise in design and release of the hydraulic systems for AT, DCT, and CVT. Understanding of system engineering within automatic transmissions and electric drives
  • Authoring system/component level requirements of peer-reviewed publications
  • Experience in creating technology roadmaps in their respective area of expertise
  • Strong interpersonal communication and team leadership skills and comfortable with presenting to executive leadership teams
  • Experience in preparation and teaching classes in their respective disciplines


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Advanced degree in with emphasis in mechanical, electrical or similar
  • Working level experience with actuators, motor controls, communication protocols, sensors, software and functional safety.
  • Working level experience with PCBs for actuators and pumps
  • Greenbelt or Blackbelt DFSS verification
  • Ability to travel globally to suppliers when needed
