Technical Specialist - Torque Transfer Components

The Candidate will Lead technical solutions in their field of expertise to ensure the best technical and economic positioning of the company in relation to the competition and contribute to the prospective vision of the field of expertise and carry out benchmarks, Suggest KPIs for their field of expertise, develop innovative technical solutions by significantly developing products or industrial processes. Ensure the technological intelligence for their area of expertise, Will be capable of suggesting effective solutions to resolve any technical problem in their area of expertise and will take part in decision-making bodies when necessary (technical reviews, project milestones).

The candidate will also lead the management and sharing of knowledge through teaching in their field of expertise (knowledge capitalization documents, internal network coordination, etc.) and train the specialists in their technical field of expertise, Understand the best practices in their field of expertise and they contribute, in particular, in terms of technical solutions to enhance reference systems of knowledge and know-how in their field of expertise. Contribute to or put forward the technical policy for their specific field of expertise.

Candidate skills are recognized in their field of expertise and their advice and opinions have a bearing on technical choices in their field of expertise, they will actively contribute to the network of expertise and organize internal conferences and communications for their field of expertise.

Work will be published in scientific/specialist magazines and/or external communications. Take part in bodies at national level or international level, where relevant (standardization, professional) and provide technical support and leadership within the transmission and driveline product release center engineering team for given propulsion system components.

Responsibilities include:



  • Lead and ensure key components design best practices, lessons learned and continuous improvements are followed and integrated into product design release process
  • Lead technical infrastructure lead for key components, documentation, specifications, requirements definitions and drawing signoffs for key supplied components
  • Work in the COE (council of excellence for automatic transmission torque transfer systems. Provide technical support and leadership within the transmission, EDM and driveline product release center engineering teams
  • Lead and/or support all engineering topics needing this domain expertise.
  • Promote intellectual property identification and development
  • Coaching, training and mentoring less experienced engineers

Basic Qualifications:



  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree field
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in propulsion systems, automatic transmissions with working experience designing and releasing gears, splines, shafts, bearings
  • Strong virtual analysis knowledge and experience
  • Strong interpersonal communication and team leadership skills. Comfortable with presenting to executive leadership team


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master of Science Degree in Engineering
  • Working level experience with suppliers of automatic transmission and EDM gear reducer components
  • Greenbelt or Blackbelt DFSS certification
  • Ability to travel globally to suppliers when needed
