Research Scientist - Preclinical Immunology - mRNA Platform Technologies
needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh Scientific's client located in Waltham, MA.

This position is in the Preclinical Immunology team
of a major pharmaceutical company, and requires a PhD in Immunology, Virology, or a related discipline. Schedule is full-time M-F (7am-8am start time, 8 hour shift)
and may require flexibility to work some evenings and overtime due to projects.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead and conduct laboratory-based research to evaluate immune responses to mRNA vaccine candidates using in vitro and in vivo models.
  • Develop and optimize assays to characterize innate and adaptive immune responses using flow cytometry, transcriptomics, Luminex, MSD and other immune assays.
  • Design and execute experimental plans, analyze data, and interpret results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the Research and Biomarker Organization and the broader mRNA teams.
  • Mentor and guide junior scientists in the lab.
  • Stay current with advancements in immunology and mRNA vaccine technology to bring innovative ideas to the team.
  • Prepare scientific presentations and reports for internal and external meetings and conferences.



Qualifications:

  • PhD in Immunology, Virology, or a related discipline with relevant hands-on lab experience.
  • Ability to design and conduct in vivo, ex vivo studies using animal and cell-based models.
  • Proven expertise in mRNA-LNP immunology, especially innate immune evaluation is a plus.
  • Experience in developing and optimizing multi-color flow cytometry assays, transcriptomics bioinformatics data analysis and virology/serology assays is strongly preferred.
  • Strong track record of scientific achievement, including publications and/or meeting presentations.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills. Experience managing multiple projects and working in a matrix environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced dynamic environment. Familiarity with managing CROs is a plus.
  • Compliance with all safety training and good research laboratory practices.



Estimated Min Rate: $40.00
Estimated Max Rate: $45.00
