Description
We are hiring a Contingent Workforce Program Manager to lead the transformation of Steelcase's global contingent workforce strategy. In this new and highly visible role, you will develop and implement innovative solutions to drive cost savings, ensure compliance, and enhance operational efficiencies across all external labor categories. Reporting to Global Talent Acquisition, you will collaborate with senior executives to optimize our current program while crafting forward-thinking workforce strategies that drive measurable business impact.
This is a unique opportunity to shape policies, frameworks, and partnerships that support our evolving workforce needs. As a strategic investment for the company, this role will play a key part in expanding our contingent workforce capabilities. This leader will have the opportunity to build a small team to further support this function.
Who You Are:
You are a seasoned contingent workforce expert with a strategic mindset and a passion for building workforce programs. Beyond tactical program management, you excel at influencing change, driving adoption of new organizational behaviors, and aligning program objectives with broader business goals. You thrive in cross-functional environments, leveraging strong analytical skills and stakeholder management expertise to drive impact. Your ability to navigate complexity and implement meaningful change makes you an ideal fit for this role.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience in contingent workforce management, including expertise in overseeing MSP programs and implementing innovative contingent workforce solutions.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing workforce programs and driving strategic initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, compliance frameworks, and worker classifications (independent contractors, SOW, staff augmentation, managed services), with a proven ability to mitigate risk.
  • Experience managing and optimizing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and driving cost efficiencies in workforce spend.
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Certification in Contingent Workforce Management (e.g., CCWP) is highly desirable.
  • Experience with HR and procurement systems such as Coupa, SuccessFactors, and VectorVMS.
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to work with senior leadership.
  • Experience in a global or multi-regional workforce strategy role.
  • Expertise in workforce analytics and reporting tools to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong background in risk mitigation strategies and employment law compliance.
What You Will Be Doing:
  • Lead the strategic redesign of the contingent workforce program to align with business goals.
  • Develop and implement policies, frameworks, and tools to drive compliance and efficiency.
  • Manage MSP and supplier relationships to ensure service excellence and cost savings.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to inform program improvements and decision-making.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to drive workforce optimization and change management.
  • Collaborate with procurement and legal teams to streamline processes, ensuring compliance with evolving labor laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and implement best practices for managing independent contractors, SOW engagements, and alternative workforce models.
  • Conduct regular program assessments and supplier audits to continuously refine and improve the program.
