Job Description:

Oregon State Treasury is seeking a highly skilledBuilding Automation Systems Specialist to join our team. This position is responsible to manage and optimize the advanced building systems that support our mission-critical operations. Our Mill Creek Resiliency Buildingis one of the most technologically advanced facilities in the state, featuring integrated building automation platforms, a Schneider microgrid, and systems designed to achieve net-zero energy goals.

This position is vital to ensuring the performance, reliability, and sustainability of our facilities. This position will lead the configuration, integration, and maintenance of systems, while optimizing energy efficiency and operational resiliency. Job Duties Summary

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building Automation System Management:

  • Configure, program, and optimize the Niagara BAS platform, integrating HVAC, lighting, and other systems.

  • Troubleshoot BAS network architecture, including BACnet, Modbus, and TCP/IP.

  • Advanced Energy Systems Oversight:

  • Manage the Schneider microgrid to balance energy efficiency and resiliency, including load shedding and battery energy storage.

  • Monitor and optimize solar photovoltaic arrays, backup power systems, and energy usage data.

  • Facility Integration and Maintenance:

  • Integrate complex mechanical and electrical systems into BAS platforms.

  • Collaborate with external partners to ensure ongoing commissioning and quarterly energy analyses.

  • Energy Management and Reporting:

  • Implement energy-saving strategies to achieve net-zero goals.

  • Use predictive analytics and IoT tools to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.

Work Schedule

This position will have the opportunity for a hybrid (remote and in-office) work location schedule; in-office work will be predominately from Treasury's Salem office . Occasional work will be performed at Treasury's office in Tigard. This position will work from the office at least one day a week with additional days in the office for facilities office coverage and other business needs.

Salary Range

$84,840 - $130,416 annually.

Job Classification

This position is classified as an Facilities Engineer 3 . This position is a SEIU represented position .

Required Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in either Civil, Electrical, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management Engineering, or Energy Management Engineering; AND four years of engineering experience.

  • Proficiency with integrating mechanical systems, including HVAC, with BAS systems.

  • Experience with advanced energy systems including microgrids and BESS.

  • Experience with non-TCP/IP network architecture and integration with TCP/IP architecture.
