Department:Adult Education DivisionDepartment's Website: coordinator's role is to help remove barriers to childcare, transportation, and other areas that will allow clients/students to become self-sufficient. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 1. Process weekly referrals received the DHS portal (Maximus); report weekly progress to the director. 2. Accurately maintain and update files, manuals, and handbooks, as assigned. 3. Submit monthly progress reports to the program director and state E&T coordinator. 4. Complete career services provider training and utilize those skills to counsel and advise students/clients. 5. Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills. 6. Provide documentation of professional development records as requested by the director. 7. Foster collegiality & teambuilding among staff; participate actively in the decision-making process. 8. Communicate and collaborate with the director/staff to recognize student excellence and achievement. 9. Visit business and industry managers; Maintain an employment board with job leads for students/clients. 10. Use technology to assist students with employment searches, post-secondary research, and career planning. 11. Schedule monthly guest speakers from community resource lists to speak with students/clients. 12. Attend and participate in staff meetings and serve on committees as assigned. 13. Utilize the LACES database information to stay abreast of client/student attendance and academic progress. 14. Attend job fairs and other community events to promote E &T services; Provide reverse client referrals. 15. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelors degree or higher preferred. EXPERIENCE: Two years of administrative experience preferred. Additional Information: SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: * Ability to instruct adult participants and effectively manage classroom behavior. * Ability to offer commendable customer service to internal and external LEA clients.
